SAFETY AND WHAT TO EXPECT
The 2024 Total Solar Eclipse will be a busy day for many. To ensure the safety of Westfield residents and visitors, follow necessary safety criteria.
VIEWING SAFETY
-
When viewing the eclipse, it is important that you are using safety precautions and wearing safe solar viewing glasses. Ensure you are only viewing the sun through ISO 12312-2 certified glasses.
-
Remember, during the 3 minutes and 18 seconds of totality, you are safe to remove your glasses and observe the moon blocking the light of the sun.
-
If you're traveling to view the eclipse, exercise caution on the roads and follow traffic laws. Don't stop on highways or impede traffic flow to view the eclipse.
